A jury found her guilty of murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and robbery.
The woman, Ashley White, and her boyfriend, Cody DeLisa, had a bad relationship.
They argued a lot, and he criticized her for not having a good job.
She wrote in her diary that she regretted meeting him. Things got worse when she tried to hurt his cat.
One day, White went for a job interview. On the way home, she argued with DeLisa over text messages. She then met a man on the bus who called himself “Scott.” She told Scott that DeLisa had raped her, and Scott said they should kill him.
White and Scott went to White’s house, and Scott pretended to be her brother. They then shot DeLisa in the head and stole his wallet. Scott left town a few days later, and White never saw him again.
Police found DeLisa’s body the next day. White confessed to the murder and was arrested.
For three years, “Scott’s” real identity was unknown. Then, a woman contacted the police and said her boyfriend, Michael Stratton, was “Scott.” Stratton was already in jail for killing another man. However, he has been declared mentally unfit to stand trial for that murder, and he hasn’t been charged with DeLisa’s death.
The District Attorney said that White was responsible for the murder and will be punished. She could get up to 48 years in prison.
