A man in Slovenia has been arrested for allegedly killing his wife just days after she moved from the Philippines to join him.

Marvil had just arrived in Slovenia on December 22, and her death occurred a week later on December 29, following what was reported as a heated argument. The couple had been together since April and got married in July.
Her husband, Mitja Kocjančič, who has reportedly had mental health issues, was arrested in connection with her death and taken to a psychiatric hospital, according to Gulf News. It is not yet clear if he has been formally charged.
Mitja Kocjančič is also known as a motivational speaker who talks about mental health and his experiences with obesity. The Commission of Filipinos Overseas, a government agency, confirmed Marvil’s death.
