Harry wasn’t in court on the first day but will testify in February.
This case is part of Harry’s effort to fight against what he says are illegal activities by some British newspapers.
The lawsuit accuses *The Sun* of illegally gathering information through journalists and private investigators.
Harry, who is 40, was not present at the start of the trial. He will give evidence in court for four days in February.
The trial was delayed at the start because Harry’s lawyer asked for more time due to settlement talks. Another person involved in the case, former politician Tom Watson, was also at the court.
The judge gave both legal teams an hour to talk, and then another break for lunch. The lawyer for *The Sun* agreed to the delays, saying it wouldn’t affect the trial schedule.
*The Sun* denies any wrongdoing. They said that Harry has accused them of phone hacking and other privacy violations between 1996 and 2011.
They also said that the phone hacking accusations have been removed from the case and that they will defend themselves against the remaining accusations.
Harry started this case in 2019. His wife, Meghan Markle, also had a successful case against another newspaper. Harry is also involved in other legal cases, including one about his security and another against the publishers of the *Daily Mail*.
Harry has said that these lawsuits have affected his relationship with his family, but he feels it’s important to fight for justice. He said he’s doing this for his own reasons and for the “greater good.”
Other celebrities, like Hugh Grant and Sienna Miller, also had cases against the same publisher but settled them. Grant said he settled because he could have had to pay huge legal costs even if he won.
*The Sun* says they didn’t admit any wrongdoing in those settlements and that settling was better financially for both sides.
Harry has said that other people settled because they had to. He said he’s continuing the case for accountability.
