Tory Lanez is accusing Megan Thee Stallion of misusing the legal system in a new legal filing. According to court documents from Los Angeles County, Lanez (real name Daystar Peterson), 32, filed a response on December 24 to Megan’s earlier request for a temporary restraining order.
The filing claims that Megan (real name Megan Pete), 29, is using the court system unfairly, stating that Lanez has had no direct contact with her. Lanez’s complaint argues that Megan’s actions are an example of public figures using their influence to suppress opinions they disagree with... Continue reading here ▶
The complaint also cites California law, which protects free speech and limits restraining orders that restrict constitutionally protected speech. Lanez claims Megan is trying to “cancel” his opinions rather than addressing or debating them.
Megan’s legal team had previously accused Lanez of harassment from prison, claiming he uses social media and third parties, including blogger Milagro Gramz, to bully and harass her. Megan’s filing alleges this harassment has caused her severe emotional distress and damaged her reputation.
Lanez, who is serving a 10-year sentence for shooting Megan in the feet during a 2020 incident, denies these accusations. His complaint states that he poses no current or future threat to Megan, as he is in prison and does not have access to firearms.
Lanez was convicted in 2022 of three felonies, including assault with a semiautomatic firearm. He began serving his sentence in 2023 and has filed an appeal.
A hearing regarding Megan’s restraining order request is scheduled for January 9. Megan’s team has not yet responded to these recent claims.
