Timothy Fox was arrested on Tuesday and charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action.
The police were called to the home the brothers shared after Timothy Fox didn’t show up for work for two days.
His employer asked the police to check on him.
When officers arrived at the house in St. Louis, they found Peter Fox dead on the couch with a hatchet embedded in his head. There was blood on the floor, walls, and ceiling nearby.
Timothy Fox was found in another room of the house and appeared to be very drunk. While being detained, he reportedly made comments like, “How did you guys find out about this?” and “How did you know he was here?”
The police officer who wrote the report said that Timothy Fox is a danger to the community. She noted that he had a previous conviction for arson. In 2007, Timothy Fox was arrested for arson. He was convicted and sentenced to three years, but the sentence was suspended after he completed boot camp and alcohol treatment.
Timothy Fox is currently being held on a $500,000 cash bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
