A Kentucky man has been accused of murdering an 18-month-old girl he was babysitting after she suffered severe injuries.

Around 4 p.m., Corbin called the children’s mother, saying the 18-month-old girl was having trouble breathing. A few minutes later, he called 911 to report that she had stopped breathing.
Officers arrived and found the child in critical condition. She was rushed to a local hospital and then airlifted to Norton Children’s Hospital in Louisville. Doctors found that the child had severe swelling and bleeding on her scalp and face, skull fractures, and internal bleeding. Tragically, she died from her injuries.
Police arrested Corbin and charged him with murder. A pediatrician specializing in child abuse described the girl’s skull fractures as the worst they had ever seen in their medical career.
Police did not clarify Corbin’s relationship with the children’s mother. Speaking to WDRB, Elizabethtown police spokesperson Chris Denham called the crime “heinous, despicable, and disgusting,” adding, “How could you do that to a baby?”
It is unclear if Corbin has entered a plea or hired an attorney.
