Originally, King’s death was classified as a suicide. However, a detailed postmortem examination later discovered a foreign object in her body, leading authorities to reevaluate and reopen the case.
Efforts are underway to locate Norman’s father, David L. Norman, 65, for additional questioning.
Currently, Norman is being held without bail at the Linn County Jail. He was arraigned on January 14 and is due back in court on January 21. It is currently unknown if he has legal representation.
To support King’s young children, her family has created a GoFundMe page. Her sister, Micaela King, shared, “Mariah, my beautiful sister, left us on 7/18.
