On April 28, 2023, Flores called 911 at 2:37 p.m., telling dispatchers she had fought with Wilson, her boyfriend of seven years. She admitted, “I just shot him and left.”
Flores also claimed Wilson had choked her but later stopped answering questions, saying she needed to speak with her lawyer.
During the call, she revealed she threw the gun out of her car but didn’t say where.
When officers arrived at Wilson’s home, they found him lying in a hallway with a gunshot wound to his upper body. The bullet had passed completely through his body, but investigators couldn’t determine if it was fired from the front or back.
Inside the home, police discovered bullet holes in a mirror, walls, and other areas, along with fired and unfired cartridges in multiple rooms.
Using her phone’s location, officers tracked Flores to her brother’s house in Chandler, about 14 miles away. She was arrested without incident.
Police noted old bruises on her arms and a healing chest wound but no recent injuries. Flores declined to answer their questions, insisting on a lawyer.
According to police, a friend of Wilson said Flores was abusive toward him, often hitting and verbally attacking him. The friend claimed Wilson once said, “If I ever end up dead, it’s because she shot me.”
On a GoFundMe page, Wilson’s brother shared more details, saying Flores shot him, locked the house, and left him to die.
He also raised awareness about domestic violence against men, explaining that abuse targeting men often goes unnoticed. Despite Wilson’s size and appearance of strength, he had reportedly been trying to leave the toxic relationship.
Flores is scheduled for sentencing on February 28, 2025.
