Two of them, Michael Hess-Witucki, 23, and Ethan Galloway, 23, are charged with murder and 12 counts of illegally firing a gun.
All four are also charged with interfering with the investigation and possessing drugs.
The four men are in jail without bail. They were arrested the day after they allegedly chased Dutton and her 18-year-old friend from an apartment complex in a black truck belonging to Hess-Witucki.
Dutton’s friend told police she saw the men and the truck at the complex, where both the girls and the men were present for unrelated reasons. Witnesses also saw the black truck in the area, and there is video footage to confirm this.
Hess-Witucki and Galloway reportedly confessed to the crime after police read them their rights. Hess-Witucki said he was driving the truck, and Galloway admitted to firing the shots.
They told police they chased Dutton’s vehicle because they thought the people inside had been following them in their neighborhood.
Galloway reportedly wrote a letter to Dutton’s parents apologizing. The other two men, Matthew Sorber-Petrie, 22, and Aldric Felipe, 21, who stayed behind, reportedly admitted that Sorber-Petrie lent Galloway and Hess-Witucki the gun, knowing they planned to chase Dutton.
Dutton’s father told reporters that his last words to his daughter were, “Just be careful.”
