Deundrea Holloway admitted he was guilty of murder, killing her unborn child, and hiding the body.
He got separate prison sentences for each crime, which add up to 60 years.
The case was complicated because Holloway was initially found mentally unfit to stand trial and had to receive treatment.
Also, a court ruling meant he couldn’t get a life sentence, even though he killed both the mother and her baby.
Liese Dodd, the 22-year-old victim, was almost eight months pregnant. Her mother found her body in her home after going to check on her. Police found Dodd’s head in a nearby garbage bin.
Police described the murder as horrific. Holloway and Dodd had been dating on and off for about two years. Dodd and her family were planning a baby shower for the end of June.
Holloway will have to serve at least 52 years in prison before he can be considered for release.
