Additional Felony Charges
Now, Harford is accused of hacking into a former employer’s business account to pay his Verizon bill between July 6 and July 9, 2024. The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to PEOPLE that these new charges come out of Littleton.
PEOPLE reached out to the Littleton Police Department for comment but received no reply as of Sunday, Jan. 19.
Discovery of Human Remains
Police had discovered a woman’s body in a hearse, which Harford allegedly left there for over a year.
Captain Dan Clark said this woman died in August 2022, and detectives believe she remained in the hearse shortly after her death. The woman’s family had already received what they thought were her cremated remains from the funeral home.
More Remains Found
Investigators also found more human remains in black plastic bags in the crawlspace of Harford’s former home.
Clark said these likely belong to individuals who died between 2012 and 2021, and they are working to identify them. Many families are shocked because they believed the ashes they received were those of their loved ones.
Financial Problems Alleged
Clark explained that Harford “experienced financial trouble” and sometimes couldn’t complete cremations.
As a result, he may have given families someone else’s ashes so that funeral services could still be held. Apollo Funeral and Cremation Services has been closed since September 2022, according to NBC.
It remains unclear whether Harford will face additional legal consequences once he returns to the U.S. after receiving medical treatment.
