A New Jersey woman, Jena Davidson, was found passed out drunk in a family’s home while the toddler she was babysitting was spotted wandering alone outside.

The neighbor then called 911 and returned the child to his home, where they found Davidson, 35, unconscious and smelling of alcohol.
At the time, both parents were at work. The child’s father saw his son outside through a security camera app and quickly called a neighbor, who found the toddler and brought him back home.
When the neighbor found Davidson, she called 911, saying, “The babysitter is out. On the floor. I need an ambulance.”
Police later determined that Davidson had consumed a large amount of the family’s alcohol, causing her to pass out.
Investigators found a coffee mug with alcohol and an empty shot bottle in Davidson’s bag. Davidson was taken to the hospital for treatment, while the child was unharmed and cared for by neighbors until his parents returned.
Davidson had offered babysitting services on websites Mom Trusted and Nanny Lane. Nanny Lane confirmed she used their site for a brief period over a year ago before leaving. Though her profile is still live, she has been blocked from using the site. Nanny Lane also stated that they recommend all families conduct background checks.
Davidson was charged with second-degree endangering the welfare of a child while still receiving medical care at the hospital.
