President Joe Biden has announced he will not enforce the ban on his final day in office, leaving the decision to President-elect Donald Trump.
Trump has suggested he wants to find a solution to keep TikTok available in the U.S., but his specific plans remain unclear.
If the ban is enforced, TikTok would no longer be available for download or updates in U.S. app stores. While current users could still use the app temporarily, it would eventually stop working without updates.
TikTok has argued the ban violates free speech rights and dismissed the national security concerns as unfounded. However, the court ruled that the law is necessary to protect Americans’ data.
