A man in China has been sentenced to death for driving his car into a crowd and killing 35 people, reportedly because he was angry about his recent divorce settlement.

On November 11, Fan drove his car into a group of people exercising outside a stadium in Zhuhai, a city in southern China’s Guangdong province. The attack killed 35 people and injured 43 others, according to local police.
Authorities believe Fan was upset over how financial assets were divided in his divorce settlement, the Associated Press reported.
This incident is one of several similar attacks in China. Earlier in December, another man received a suspended death sentence after driving into a crowd of schoolchildren in Hunan province, injuring 30 people, including 18 children.
